As every one knows, breastfeeding is agreed to be best for baby. But what if you don’t have enough milk? What if baby isn’t suckling? What if you simply can’t? Well then, of course there is tinned formula. But if you would like another option here it is. I was given this recipe by my nutritionist for my son. I also have a dairy-free option for lactose intolerant bubs which I will put up in a separate post.
You Will Need:
2 Cups of Raw Cows Milk
1 Cup of Filtered Water
1/4 Cup of Whey (from your own 24hr fermented yoghurt-post on how to make to follow)
1 Tablespoon of good quality organic cream
2 teaspoons of Coconut Oil
1 Teaspoon Organic Cold Pressed Sunflower Oil
1 teaspoon of Cod Liver Oil
1 teaspoon of Cold Pressed Olive Oil
1/4 teaspoon of Acerola Powder
1/4 teaspoon of Probiotic Powder (lactose free)
-Pour all ingredients into a blender.
-Store as much as you will need for the next 24hours in baby bottles in the fridge, and freeze the rest. I find freezing it in covered ice cube trays works best, and these ones from Happy Baby are awesome for bub’s food/fluids: Baby Food Trays
-Heat in baby’s bottle in warm water only.
-Shake well before feeding to baby.
